First off...you gotta love that name. All of the Alex Cross books have kids rhyme titles, and most of them have to do with the name of the criminal they're hunting...In this book, the psycho is called "the Weasel" which makes the title oh-so funny to me.
Anyway...I wasn't as in to this book as some of the others. It wasn't that it was not a good book...I just didn't feel as drawn into it and it wasn't as exciting to me because it seemed to be following a pattern that all of the Alex Cross books seem to have. The same thing doesn't happen with each criminal, but its close enough sometimes to make you get a little bored.
I think one of my main problems though was that the end was ruined for me. I knew the fate of one of the characters that you were supposed to be in suspense about, and it made me a little blase about the whole thing.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
I am not doing a separate review on Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix because I simply reread it to refresh my mind as to where it left off and this book would start.
I feel slightly...wary...about what I write here, because I do not want to give anything away. As a huge huge Harry Potter fan, I do understand how horrible it is to have any of the story spoiled.
All of the Harry Potter books are wonderful. If you have only seen the movies, you are doing yourself a great disfavor. The movies are good, but the books are a world unto themselves.
This book is amazing. Everything that happens brings out the most in our own human emotions. I was warned that I needed a box of tissues at the end and I pass this on to you, however I did not cry. I was in too much shock to cry. I was completely numb. It a powerful story that can make you feel like it is real.

This is the third Kim Harrison book about Rachel Morgan, witch, and independent runner.
Gods I love this series. They are a bit like the Anita Blake books without all the sex, although, I like the storyline in these more than the Anita Blake books.
Since we left off at the end of The Good, the Bad, and the Undead, three months have passed. Rachel's life is always crazy enough, but now Piscary, the undead kingpin, is in jail finally by testimony of a demon. Rachel is relieved of course that she managed to put him behind bars, but now she must face up to the fact that she promised the demon that she would become his familiar.
Supposedly no one outsmarts a demon, but Rachel is one hell of a spitfire ;)
There are lots of other great subplots going on in this book as well. Nick is still being weird, Kisten is more determined than ever to take his place, Jenks takes a hike, and Ivy has finally gotten a grip on herself somewhat. Such is a day in the life in the Hollows.
Hee hee...I love these books.

This is the fourth in the Alex Cross series by James Patterson. I didn't get to do reviews on the others, but then again it is hard to do reviews on books that are part of a series when you are reading them back to back.
Alex Cross is a dectective in Washington D.C., but because of his doctorate and his amazing ability to profile killers, he ends up working on cases that range far out of his home area. He has two small children and lives with them and his Nana Mama. His wife was murdered.
The result of all of this is a man who is not only a crazy and incredibly talented cop, but an amazingly warm and compassionate father and friend.
Cat and Mouse brings back the killer from the original book in the series, Along Came a Spider, which I was thankful for since I had a lot of questions left over from the first book.
This is a good series. Its just a bit of a commitment...there are a lot of books in the series...I'm not even sure how many.

Our computer is fixed, and I am back.
I've decided not to do reviews on the books I read while I was gone...they are Along Came a Spider, Kiss the Girls, Eleven on Top, and Jack and Jill...if you would like to know what I thought of any of these, feel free to ask, and I will write something on it. :) What I WILL say about them though....The three that are in the Alex Cross series by Patterson...really well done. I'm addicted to the series. The Evanovich...delightful. I love the Stephanie Plum novels.

I LOVE Dean Koontz. Not all of his books are wonderful, but so many of them are.
This went into my "love it" catagory of his books. I loved it!
This book was engrossing...it was one of those books that you think about when you are not reading it. The last few days I've been working and all the while wondering what was going to happen next...desperate for my lunch break so I could read a couple more chapters.
The oddest thing about this book was the way it ended. I expected something very mysterious and cyrptic for the conclusion...I expected him to bend a bit more. He didn't...the ending was very straightforward.
I loved this book. Its probably in my top ten favorites among Dean Koontz books.

Alright.....okay.........*takes a moment to collect thoughts*
HOW MANY TIMES CAN A GIRL HAVE SEX IN ONE DAY?!?!?!?!
I'm all for sensual and erotic scenes that are well placed in a book's storyline, but this was freaking overkill. I went into overdose. My mind started to glaze over all the sexuality and it took me forever to read, because I kept getting bored.
Its sad because I really do like the story of Anita Blake and I want to read about whats going on with her, but come on. Enough is enough. It went from fitting into the storyline to be stuffed in at any possible moment. What really got me though...everytime she was going to have sex she acted like she hadn't been laid in YEARS...when she actually had just done someone else a little bit before. *sigh*
Like I said...I'm all for nicely sensual scenes, but I felt like I was drowning in all of the sex.
Boooooooorrrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnngggggggggg
And thats what I have to say about THAT.

This is the second to the last of the Anita Blake books.....there will be more to come, but there is only one more out as of now. This series has definitely evolved from the first book...I think if you read the first one and then this one, you might not believe its the same character.
There was an interesting plot line in here with Belle Morte and another with Dolph. Hamilton is definitely jumping off the charts for her art, holding back no bars and showing no mercy. I like that...its powerful to see such raw emotion and many authors can't pull it off.
The eroticism level certainly keeps going up. This is the one bad part. Some sensuality is good, and fun to read in the story, but I almost feel like I've been bombarded with so much of it in the books that I'm a little bored with it. Actually a lot bored. My eyes have started to glaze over the sex scenes, skimming to make sure there isn't anything that has to do with the actual plot in there. Its overkill honestly, at least for me. Oh well.

I really should have posted this sooner...I finished this book over a week ago. Oh well.
This is the fourth book in Patterson's Women's Murder Club series. It is the only series by Patterson that I have read, although I want to read the Alex Cross series eventually.
I enjoyed this book, but at the same time I was a little disappointed. The story was good, and it did have some nice twists and turns, but it was not really about the women's murder club. Lindsey Boxer, the cop in the group, has always been sort of the leading lady in the stories, but the other girls have been costars right there with her....the other girls were barely even in this book at ALL. It was pretty much just Lindsey.
I speculate that the reason why is because they were strained due to the loss of a member that they suffered in the last book. This makes sense to me.....I even think it was a decent literary choice.....I just missed the club a bit. :)
Like I said though, the story was good. I definitely didn't see some stuff coming, and some of it I figured out. I love it when I can read a book and not figure out everything...its always nice to be surprised.
